JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - The third and last defendant in a federal drug investigation in east Mississippi has been sentenced to six months in prison for lying to authorities.
The sentencing of Marzett Jordan of Philadelphia in federal court in Jackson earlier this month ends the yearslong illegal narcotics distribution and money laundering investigation.
Fededral prosecutors say Marzett Jordan and his brother, Spencer, laundered drug proceeds through real estate purchases. Marzett Jordan purchased the property in his name.
Spencer Jordan pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute cocaine and conspiracy to launder monetary instruments. He was sentenced in 2009 to more than 11 years in prison.
Annie Mae Jordan pleaded guilty to withholding information on a felony. She was sentenced to in 2006 eight months in prison followed by one year of supervised release.
