FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office has fired a corrections deputy accused of crashing his personal vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident.

The sheriff’s office says the accident occurred March 29 in Loveland.

Authorities say Corrections Sgt. Isaac Nail was driving to work in his personal vehicle and wearing his uniform when the accident occurred.

Nail was issued a summons and placed on paid administrative leave until he was fired.

Nail was employed by the sheriff’s office for nearly 20 years. He did not return a phone call seeking comment.
