HOUSTON (AP) - Houston police say a man was charged with capital murder in the death of a woman slain in her apartment.
Police say 23-year-old Jacob Isaac Robertson was charged Friday in the April 2 death of 24-year-old Sandra Carpio.
An autopsy was ordered after officers found her with trauma all over her body. Her five young children and a family member were also in the apartment, but weren’t harmed.
Carpio’s vehicle was found April 3 in nearby Conroe.
Police say their investigation led them to Robertson, who was an acquaintance of Carpio’s boyfriend and had been staying at her apartment. Police found he was arrested April 3 in Louisiana for driving a vehicle reported stolen in Conroe.
Robertson remains in jail in Louisian pending extradition. Court records don’t list an attorney.
