KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Knoxville police say a man has drowned after jumping off a cliff into the Blount Avenue Quarry.

Police told WBIR-TV (https://on.wbir.com/1FDAtDQ) that the call came in Sunday evening and officers responded along with the Knoxville Fire Department and the Knoxville Rescue Squad, which conducted an underwater search.

The man was found in the area where witnesses said he had jumped into the water. He never resurfaced.

His identity wasn’t immediately released.

Another man drowned in the quarry last year after jumping from a cliff.
