RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - A North Carolina government employee was hospitalized after equipment fell on him outside the state archives building.
Multiple media reports said the worker was injured Monday morning at the building located one block east of the Legislative Building.
Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Pam Walker says the worker was setting up a scissor lift when the lift toppled upon him.
The injured male employee works for the Facility Management Division for the Department of Administration. A spokesman for that agency wouldn’t release the worker’s name but says he was in the intensive care unit at WakeMed hospital in Raleigh as of Monday afternoon.
State Capitol Police and the Department of Labor are investigating.
