NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - North Little Rock’s City Council is considering loosening regulations for mobile food vendors in the city.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (https://bit.ly/1zacG6J ) reports the council will introduce changes to the regulations Monday, but may postpone a vote until its next meeting to allow for a public hearing. City Attorney Jason Carter says the changes would “clarify and simplify” rules that were difficult for mobile food vendors to meet.

One of the biggest changes to the regulations, which were implemented less than a year ago, will be the elimination of some of the steps in the registration process for food truck operators. Mobile food vendors currently have to register for each event, and their permits are only valid for three consecutive days for one truck. The council will propose having an annual registration.
