LITTLE VALLEY, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities are advising residents in a rural western New York village not to be alarmed by the presence of a large number of police vehicles and personnel in their community.
State police say troopers and the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting a four-day emergency response training exercise this week at the former elementary school building in the village of Little Valley, 45 miles south of Buffalo.
Officials say the training will be conducted from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
The training is being hosted by the state Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services State Preparedness Training Center.
Troopers say the exercise is aimed at boosting interagency cooperation and training officers to respond to any emergency.
