BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Gov. Peter Shumlin is set to join officials from the University of Vermont, Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and industry officials to highlight growth in Vermont’s bio-pharmaceutical industry.

Shumlin and UVM officials have been promoting science, technology, engineering and math as academic subject areas likely to see strong job growth in the coming years.

Monday’s event at the Sheraton Burlington Hotel and Conference Center is aimed at highlighting the links between those subjects and the growing bio-pharmaceutical industry.

Shumlin is scheduled to address the event at 8 a.m., followed by a panel discussion and question-and-answer session.
