DALLAS (AP) - Some drivers had to abandon their vehicles during street flooding in Fort Worth.
The National Weather Service reports parts of Denton and Flower Mound also had street flooding Monday from rainy conditions that could linger into Thursday.
Forecaster Jamie Gudmestad (GOOD’-muh-sted) says Fort Worth received more than 2 inches of rain Monday. Gainesville had up to 5 inches of rain since Sunday.
Nobody was hurt Monday when a United Airlines jet on a flight from Las Vegas slipped off the taxiway after landing in Houston during rainy weather. The gear ended up in the muddy grass.
Lightning was blamed for some storage tank fires Sunday night in West Texas. The Glasscock County Sheriff’s Office says the fire happened at a tank battery farm near Garden City. Nobody was hurt.
