KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Tennessee Valley Authority will host a public meeting in Tupelo, Mississippi, on Tuesday to discuss its energy planning decisions for the next 20 years.

The nation’s largest public utility recent released a draft of its 2015 Integrated Resource Plan.

The IRP and associated Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement is a study of how TVA might meet energy and capacity needs in a variety of future conditions. Currently, the utility is in the draft phase of the study and is holding public meetings to answer questions and obtain feedback on the results.

Additional meetings will be held April 15 in Memphis; April 21 in Nashville; and April 22 in Bowling Green, Ky.

TVA serves 9 million people in parts of Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Kentucky, Georgia, North Carolina and Virginia
