GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) - Authorities are investigating an overnight fire that destroyed a vacant factory in Grand Rapids.
The fire broke out around 10 p.m. Sunday at the former site of the Oliver Racing Parts on the city’s northeast side. The roof and other parts of the building collapsed as firefighters worked to contain the blaze.
Deputy Fire Chief Kevin Sehlmeyer says no one was inside the building at the time.
The Grand Rapids Press says the building is owned Dutchman’s Olive LLC, which says the fire ruins its plans to redevelop the building.
It’s still unclear what caused the fire.
