COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho (AP) - Northern Idaho authorities say rescuers engaged in an overnight search after a Washington state man fled a rollover crash because he mistakenly thought he had a warrant for his arrest.

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office tells the Coeur d’Alene Press (https://bit.ly/1Hk1Im8) that 43-year-old Jeremy Jernick of Spokane, Washington, was taken into custody late Saturday on suspicion of leaving the scene of a crash.

Police say Jernick was looking for a camping spot Friday evening with his girlfriend and her three juvenile sons.

Police say the girlfriend and boys exited her Chevrolet Suburban and Jernick tried to turn it around, but rolled the vehicle.

Jernick fled when the woman called for help.

Jernick was booked into the Kootenai County Jail. On Monday he wasn’t listed on the inmate roster.
