SANDPOINT, Idaho (AP) - A Washington state man who stabbed his father in the neck in northern Idaho near Priest River has been sentenced to four years in prison.
The Bonner County Daily Bee reports (https://bit.ly/1DWMTpY) that 29-year-old Morgan Eugene Wolf received the sentence last week in 1st District Court after pleading guilty to aggravated assault and possession of methamphetamine.
The judge in the case retained jurisdiction, meaning Wolf could be released on probation after a year if he shows progress in prison in a substance abuse program.
Police say that Wolf stabbed his 56-year-old father in the neck during an alcohol-fueled altercation on Jan. 9 at the River Country Motel & RV Park. The older man recovered.
Wolf expressed regret at the sentencing and said it was a life-changing event.
