EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - A Eugene credit union was evacuated Monday because of a suspicious package that contained white powder.

Eugene Police Department spokesman John Hankenmeier says officers responded at 10:19 a.m., and the building was evacuated for several hours as part of Oregon’s hazardous-materials protocol.

The substance was not hazardous.
