ROCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - A woman has been charged with conspiracy in connection with an upcoming trial for a man accused of fatally stabbing a teenager during a robbery in New Hampshire.
Attorney General Joseph Foster said Alexandria Wyant of Rochester, 21, was arrested Sunday. She was arraigned in Dover District Court on Monday and was still seeking a lawyer. Her bail was set at $10,000.
Three men have been charged with stabbing 18-year-old Aaron Wilkinson last June with a machete and knife, then dumping his body in Lebanon, Maine. A medical examiner’s report found Wikinson was stabbed 22 times.
One of the three men, 19-year-old Tristan Wolusky, has pleaded not guilty to first- and second-degree murder and faces trial in June.
Wyant is accused of conspiracy to commit tampering with witnesses and informants in connection with Wolusky’s trial. A judge ordered Wyant to not have any contact with them or Wolusky.
Police said Wolusky, 19-year-old Zachary Pinette of Springvale, Maine, and 21-year-old Michael Tatum planned to steal money and drugs from Wilkinson when they went to his home in Madbury. They ended up taking $27 and a cellphone.
According to police, the three took elaborate steps to avoid detection: Pinette bought glue to obscure their fingerprints, and he and Tatum removed their shoes at Wilkinson’s house to avoid leaving shoeprints.
Pinette pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, conspiracy to commit robbery, and falsifying physical evidence on April 2. Tatum is scheduled to plead guilty to second-degree murder and other charges on April 24.
The two are expected to testify against Wolusky.
