ATLANTA (AP) - A woman was struck by a car on Atlanta’s Downtown Connector, leading police to close several northbound lanes for a time near the start of Monday’s rush hour.

WXIA-TV reports (https://on.11alive.com/1O6niug) that the woman was struck as she walked along the northbound high-occupancy vehicle lane in midtown Atlanta around 5:45 a.m. Monday.

Her condition wasn’t immediately known.

The Georgia Department of Transportation said backups extended for about six miles as police investigated.
