TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (AP) - A Michigan-based airline service has announced it will offer flights between Pellston and Chicago this summer.

The Traverse City Record-Eagle (https://bit.ly/1PGjvHI ) reports North County Sky will offer the flights from June 24 to Aug. 19 on Thursdays, Fridays, Sundays and Mondays. The round-trip flights will range in price from $350 to $405 per person.

North County Sky General Manager Jim Gallagher says the trip from Pellston to Chicago will last just under two hours. Each flight will make a brief stop in Manistee to pick up additional passengers.

Gallagher says the airline is conducting a beta test of the Pellston market to see if there’s opportunity for the company in the area.

Pellston Regional Airport Manager Kelley Atkins says she hopes the service eventually will be expanded.
