CLEVELAND (AP) - The city of Cleveland’s downtown visitors center is back open following a five-month, $300,000 face lift.
The Plain Dealer (https://bit.ly/1DciwZj ) reports that the refurbished, 1,100-square-foot space at Euclid Avenue and East Fourth Street features large photos of the city’s top attractions, plus steel-wrapped columns and wood tables reclaimed from a nearby shuttered foundry.
The center is intended to reflect a new brand that merges the city’s gritty past with a sophisticated future.
Destination Cleveland, the city’s tourism arm, has operated a visitors center at the site since 2011, a place where both locals and tourists can learn more about the city and its attractions.
Last year, nearly 20,000 downtown visitors stopped in. It’s open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day but Sunday.
