BEND, Ore. (AP) - A Deschutes County deputy district attorney who has been recovering from treatment for liver cancer since October returned to the job this week.

The Bend Bulletin reports (https://is.gd/xZDfWD) that 41-year-old Dan Reesor fought for nearly a year to have a liver transplant covered by county insurance, after the procedure was rejected by the county’s third-party administrator.

Reesor underwent the transplant at UCLA on Oct. 24, three weeks after the claim was approved on its second appeal.

The newspaper reports a throng of supporters greeted Reesor when he arrived for work Monday.

Reesor said he would start on a part-time schedule and expand to full-time in a couple weeks.
