Ex-teacher accused of having sex with 17-year-old student

PENDLETON, Ore. (AP) - Police arrested a substitute teacher in Eastern Oregon accused of having sex with a 17-year-old student.

The Umatilla County District Attorney’s Office last week charged 26-year-old Timothy Frey with sexual abuse. The charging document obtained by The East Oregonian newspaper (https://is.gd/ngvvSL ) states Frey had sex with the girl three times between March 16 and April 2.

There is no indication the allegations happened at Pendleton High School, where Frey worked last worked on March 13.

A document in the case file at the Umatilla County Courthouse described Frey as a teacher until March 13, when he took a full time job with the Oregon National Guard.

Frey remains at a jail in The Dalles, in lieu of $150,000 bond.
