OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The governor is ordering flags on state property to be flown at half-staff on Thursday in honor of a state legislator who died last week.

Gov. Mary Fallin issued an executive order on Tuesday ordering all American and Oklahoma flags on state property to be flown at half-staff to honor the late state Rep. David Dank.

The 76-year-old Republican was found dead inside his Oklahoma City home on Friday.

Dank was elected in 2006 to replace his wife, Odilia, who was term-limited. He was known as a champion for senior citizens and for reforming the state’s system of tax credits.

In her executive order, Fallin called Dank a “hard-working public leader and astute businessman.”

Funeral services for Dank will be held Thursday in Oklahoma City.
