ITHACA, N.Y. (AP) - Firefighters have gained control of a blaze that has heavily damaged two neighboring buildings in Ithaca that house a popular pub and apartments.
Fire officials say the blaze was reported around 4 a.m. Tuesday at The Chapter House bar and restaurant and the apartment building next door. The three-story apartment building has been evacuated.
No injuries have been reported, but fire officials say one person is unaccounted for.
The roof of the building housing the pub has collapsed, but the Ithaca Journal reports firefighters were able to get the blaze under control by 9 a.m.
The two buildings are located near the Cornell University campus. The restaurant was closed at the time of the fire.
Firefighters from three departments and other emergency crews remain at the scene.
