FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky teachers, students and parents can now download a free children’s book about the Kentucky Governor’s Mansion.

Paperback copies of the book titled “Sam Saves the Mansion” were distributed to elementary schools and public libraries in January. The book isn’t for sale, but the e-book is accessible through the Department of Education’s website at https://education.ky.gov/comm/Pages/Free-Resources.aspx .

The book was produced at first lady Jane Beshear’s request in coordination with the Governor’s Mansion Centennial Celebration last year. The dogs in the book are named after two of Beshear’s dogs.

Rebecca Blessing and Mary Ann Miller wrote the book based on a story by Beth McDonald, and Anita Fleming illustrated it.
