DENVER (AP) - A $250 million plan to put Colorado State University buildings at the National Western Stock Show site in Denver has cleared its first test.
A committee unanimously signed off Tuesday morning on a plan to raise money for new CSU buildings.
The Denver Post reports (https://dpo.st/1yqS27L ) that the buildings would be financed through strike lease-purchase agreements for up to 20 years.
The city of Denver and the stock show plan to remake the complex into a year-round event and education center.
CSU so far has agreed to spend $16.2 million to equip an equine sports medicine clinic.
The university also may build classrooms, an outreach veterinary clinic and a clinical trials center.
The bill’s next test is Wednesday in the House Agriculture Committee.
