HEBER SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - Heber Springs police say they have arrested a man in a 54-year-old woman’s death.
Police Chief Bobby Walker says the man was arrested early Monday and is being held at the Cleburne County jail without bond. Walker isn’t releasing the suspect’s name until formal murder charges are filed but says the suspect is a relative of the victim.
Authorities say a woman called police after finding Marcia Dye dead in her home Sunday. The woman had stopped by Dye’s house to check on her pets.
Officers believed Dye’s death was suspicious and called for assistance from Arkansas State Police investigators.
Police don’t believe anyone else was involved in Dye’s death. Her body has been sent to the Arkansas Crime Laboratory to determine her cause of death.
