WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) - A man described by police as an aggressive panhandler has died nearly two months after he was struck by a passing vehicle in a Worcester street.

Police told The Telegram & Gazette (https://bit.ly/1zcK7po ) on Monday that 52-year-old Michael Gorham died late last week.

Police said witnesses driving east on Chandler Street about 11:45 p.m. on Feb. 25 told them Gorham was in the road and they had to “abruptly avoid striking” him, moments before he was hit by a westbound SUV.

Police said at the time of the accident that they knew Gorham from his “habitual aggressive panhandling.”

The crash remains under investigation and it has not been determined if charges will be brought.
