AKRON, Ohio (AP) - A northeast Ohio man is facing up to five years in prison when he’s sentenced next month for driving drunk and causing a crash that killed an 18-year-old man last year.
The Akron Beacon Journal (https://bit.ly/1HkQ7TI ) reports that 39-year-old David Brown pleaded guilty on Monday to charges that included aggravated vehicular homicide and drunken driving.
Authorities say Brown was drunk when he drove his car into the rear of a vehicle traveling south on Interstate 77 north of Akron early on July 12.
The crash critically injured Andrew Moncheck, a recent high school graduate who was a passenger in the vehicle with two friends. He died at a hospital days later. His friends suffered minor injuries.
The state patrol said Brown failed a field sobriety test at the scene.
