MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) - Alma College sports information director Mike Hanson has been named to a similar position at the University of Montana.
Athletic director Kent Haslam announced Tuesday that Hanson will begin his duties as UM’s assistant athletic director of communications in May, replacing Dave Guffey, who is retiring after 37 years with the department.
Hanson has more than two decades of communications and media relations experience. He has been SID at NCAA Division III Alma College in Michigan since 2008. He also has worked with the Portland Trailblazers of the NBA, the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League and the Miami Dolphins and the New England Patriots of the NFL.
Hanson says he’s honored to be joining the UM athletic department and to represent Grizzly athletics.
