CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - The New Hampshire Employment Security office says the state’s unemployment rate for March was 3.9 percent, unchanged from the February rate.

In March 2014, the seasonally adjusted rate for New Hampshire was 4.5 percent.

Nationally, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for March was 5.5 percent, unchanged from the February rate, and a decrease of 1.1 percentage points from the March 2014 rate.

In New Hampshire, seasonally adjusted estimates for March placed the number of employed residents at 716,940, an increase of 2,230 from the previous month and an increase of 8,390 from March 2014.

The number of unemployed residents decreased by 350 over the month to 28,940. This was 4,630 fewer unemployed than in March 2014.
