HELENA, Mont. (AP) - A suspicious package delivered to the federal building in downtown Helena, leading to the evacuation of that building along with the federal courthouse and a state printing facility, did not contain anything hazardous.
Helena Police Capt. Curt Stinson says the package arrived via U.S. Mail on Monday morning at the Sen. Max Sieben Baucus Federal Building. The Independent Record reports (https://goo.gl/mmndsG ) an X-ray and a police dog indicated the box may contain hazardous materials, but a bomb disposal team determined that the package was safe and was a legitimate shipment to the building.
Officials also evacuated the adjacent Paul G. Hatfield Courthouse and a nearby building that houses the state print and mail services.
Investigators have not said what was in the package.
