NEW YORK (AP) - This coyote wasn’t so wily after all.

The New York Police Department’s Emergency Services Unit used a sedative-filled dart on Tuesday to capture a coyote that had been spotted in the courtyard of a church in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood.

Officers on foot patrol had first seen the coyote around 8:45 a.m. at 296 Ninth Ave.

When ESU officers arrived, they used a dart gun to shoot the animal with the sedative Ketaset.

The coyote was taken to an animal care facility.
