SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) - Police in Savannah are investigating after three people were fatally shot inside a home on the city’s east side.
Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan police spokesman Julian Miller identified the men killed Monday night as 52-year-old Anderson Mells, 30-year-old Gary Mells - who both lived at the home - and 37-year-old Johnny Green.
Miller says police found the front door to the house ajar, and then discovered the bodies on the floor inside. He says detectives believe the victims were targeted and looking into whether “risky activities” at the home might be connected to the slayings.
The Savannah Morning News reports that police late Monday night worked to contain a large and, at times, unruly crowd. One person ran past crime scene tape and tried to enter the house as police investigated.
