SENECA, S.C. (AP) - Federal regulators are holding a meeting to talk about their assessment of the Oconee nuclear plant in South Carolina.
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has scheduled an open house Tuesday in the Oconee World of Energy in Seneca. Officials say the informal meeting will include informational posters, and agency staff will be on hand to answer questions.
Last year, federal officials say all three units at Oconee operated safely. Duke Energy runs the facility, and the NRC says the company corrected a crack in the weld on a safety system in one of the units.
