NEDROW, N.Y. (AP) - A school on an Indian reservation outside Syracuse is closed for a second consecutive day as authorities continue their manhunt for a suspect in several recent crimes.
Officials at the Onondaga Nation School have announced that it is closed Tuesday and students are being reassigned to other schools in the neighboring Lafayette district.
The school on the Onondaga Indian Reservation just south of Syracuse is closed and buses are being rerouted because of safety concerns stemming from the police search for 26-year-old Corey Redmond.
Authorities say the Onondaga Nation resident is wanted for firing a gun near firefighters who were battling a mobile home blaze on the reservation last Tuesday. The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office says Redmond is also wanted for charges that include assault and criminal mischief as well as for traffic-related offenses.
