DANVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Some school districts have canceled classes due to heavy rain and the threat of flooding in portions of central and eastern Kentucky.

Media report districts that have closed include Bath, Boyle, Menifee and Morgan county schools.

The National Weather Service has posted flood warnings and watches in areas of central and eastern Kentucky where up to 2 inches of rain fell overnight and another inch is expected to fall on Tuesday. According to media, some flooding has been reported in low-lying areas.

Motorists are advised not to drive through water-covered roadways.
