BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - A 22-year-old New York man has pleaded guilty in the death of his father.

Sean Keenan entered the plea to a charge of manslaughter in Buffalo City Court Monday. He had been charged with murder in the beating and stabbing death of 70-year-old John Keenan in their home in the suburb of Orchard Park last July.

Authorities say the younger Keenan cut his hair after the killing and tried to use his father’s passport to enter Canada. His attorney says he’s been treated for mental health issues.

Sean Keenan faces 15 to 25 years in prison when he is sentenced May 20.
