AMARILLO, Texas (AP) - Prosecutors say a white supremacist gang member has been sentenced to 50 years in prison for the fatal stabbing of his wife as the pair argued at a bar in Amarillo.

William Chet Stewart of Ropesville pleaded guilty Tuesday to murder as part of a plea deal.

The case involves last October’s slaying of 24-year-old Holly Elizabeth Combs. Investigators believe Stewart thought his wife planned to leave him.

Prosecutors identified the 35-year-old Stewart as an Aryan Brotherhood member with a history of assault, theft, drug and weapons cases.

Stewart must serve half of his 50-year term before being eligible for parole.
