SHERIDAN, Wyo. (AP) - Four applicants have applied for the state House District 29 seat left vacant by the death of Sheridan Republican Rep. John Patton.

Sheridan residents Ky Dixon, Mark Kinner, Patrick Geary and Ryan Mulholland threw their hats into the ring by the deadline on Friday.

The Sheridan County Republican Party is responsible for forwarding three names to the Wyoming Republican Party State Central Committee and then the Sheridan County Commission.

The Sheridan Press reports (https://bit.ly/1Jgpv4Y ) that the county commission will then select the person to represent the district.

The selected applicant will serve out the rest of Patton’s term through 2016.
