DIXON, Calif. (AP) - Authorities have arrested a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of fatally shooting a 17-year-old boy in the Northern California town of Dixon.

The Sacramento Bee reports (https://bit.ly/1FWkHyD ) the suspect was arrested Saturday afternoon in Vacaville.

John Cox, the police chief in Dixon, said the victim was shot Friday night in a park. He said two groups of teens were in the park at the time of the shooting and that the attack was “not a random act.”



The shooting was the first homicide in the town since 2008.
