FOREST CITY, Iowa (AP) - The Forest City Police Department could move into its repaired police station by late June.

The Mason City Globe Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1G5TQFH ) that City Council members were updated on the project last week.

Construction crews and city employees have been working on the station, damaged in an October 2011 fire, since February.

Council member Bob Kuefler has acted as the project manager throughout the repair process and estimates 550 to 600 hours of city-supported labor have gone into the project since Feb. 4.

The City Council also approved increasing the project budget to $235,000 from $210,000 to cover an unexpected roof repair.
