WOODSTOCK, Ill. (AP) - A judge has ruled against the Outlaws Motorcycle Club in its attempt to reclaim vests and patches seized following a northern Illinois bar brawl.

The Northwest Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1DTDTjI ) McHenry County Judge Sharon Prather ruled Friday the Outlaws are a street gang as defined by Illinois law.

She says the vests and embroidered patches members were wearing during their 2012 arrest “identified their membership and facilitated the fights.”

Joel Raab is an attorney for the American Outlaw Association. He denies the group is a gang and says they could appeal the decision.

Prosecutors say several members of the club entered the Lizard Lounge in Wonder Lake wearing the vests and later began repeatedly kicking and punching patrons.

Three members forfeited their vests as part of a plea deal with prosecutors.
