DAYTON, Ohio (AP) - A man accused of causing the death of his girlfriend’s 1-year-old son has been indicted on charges including murder and involuntary manslaughter in southwest Ohio.

Montgomery County’s prosecutor says 22-year-old Dionte Evans was indicted Friday in the death of Keyontae Ellis-Bell inside the suburban Dayton apartment Evans shared with the boy and his mother. Evans was charged with murder, involuntary manslaughter, felonious assault and endangering children.

Court records don’t list an attorney for Evans. His bail was set at $1 million.

The prosecutor says Keyontae’s mother called 911 on April 8 to report that her son wasn’t breathing. EMTs determined the child was dead. Huber Heights police say Evans was left to care the boy while his mother was at work.

A coroner says the child died from blunt-force injury.
