POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) - A prosecutor says a warrant has been issued for a Pocatello man who fled the courtroom just before his trial was set to begin.

The Idaho State Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1JfYCht ) that Darin Lish was charged with possession with intent to use drugs and driving without privileges in 2014.

Officials say just before his trial, the jury was excused to let Lish and the prosecutor talk about a possible resolution of the case. When Lish said he wanted to go to trial, they called the jury back in.

Officials say Lish told the court he needed some water and left the courtroom. When he didn’t return, officials checked the hallway and said they saw him exit the building and start running.

Bannock County Prosecutor Steve Herzog says a warrant was issued for Lish charging him with failure to appear.
