HARVEST, Ala. (AP) - A new community storm shelter will be opening in Harvest.
WHNT-TV (https://bit.ly/1yERbQu ) reports the project will be complete by this summer. Once finished, it will be able to protect a maximum of 500 people.
The Rev. Suzanne Katschke of Cross Winds United Methodist Church began seeking ways to build a shelter after a punishing tornado in April 2011 badly damaged the town.
The shelter is located on Wall Triana Highway.
