NEW YORK (AP) - Gov. Andrew Cuomo is planning to speak at an event this week meant to highlight the fight to reduce hunger in New York City.

The Democratic governor is the scheduled guest speaker at the 13th Annual Can Do Awards Dinner on Tuesday. The dinner is organized by Food Bank for New York City.

Cuomo’s girlfriend, TV chef Sandra Lee is one of those who will be honored for efforts to end hunger. Other honorees include celebrity chef Tom Colicchio. Chef Mario Batali also is expected to be among the 600 guests.

The dinner will occur just hours after Cuomo is expected to return to New York following a two-day trade mission to Cuba.
