FERRIDAY, La. (AP) - After a long winter and a spring that was seemingly wet as often as it was sunny, things need sprucing up.
The Town of Ferriday plans to do that starting at 8 a.m. May 9.
The Natchez Democrat reports (https://bit.ly/1cMEeum ) the decision to have a town-wide cleanup came after the board of aldermen’s meeting last week.
Alderwoman Gloria Lloyd says the town would encourage residents to participate in the effort and would be putting out trash bins for them to dispose any waste.
Mayor Gene Allen says participants will meet at Haney’s Big House and the town will equip people with lawnmowers, weed eaters, saws and other tools.
