MONTEVIDEO, Minn. (AP) - A 21-year-old man has been sentenced to more than four years in prison after admitting he strangled a 64-year-old man from western Minnesota while the two were having sex.
Harley Hatch of Montevideo was sentenced last week in Chippewa County. Hatch pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter in the December 2013 death of Thomas Dickson in Dickson’s Montevideo apartment.
Hatch received credit for more than three months of time already served. The Star Tribune (https://strib.mn/1O5tJTE) reports he’ll be eligible for supervised release after serving just over three years in prison.
Hatch admitted to police in January that he strangled Dickson with a leash during a sex act. According to the complaint, Hatch said Dickson’s death “had been haunting him for over a year.”
The two had met through a Craigslist ad.
