MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - A special web-based seminar - or webinar - will focus on Vermont’s village greens as the physical and cultural hearts of their communities.

Since the fall of 2013, two interns and over 60 students in University of Vermont’s community service-learning courses have engaged in a variety of projects related to village greens.

The webinar - set for noon on Thursday, April 23rd - will focus on strategies to preserve and improve the green spaces at the centers of many Vermont towns.

The effort is a collaboration between the Vermont Urban & Community Forestry Program, the Vermont Agency of Commerce & Community Development, and the Preservation Trust of Vermont.

The webinar will be recorded and available on the Vermont Urban & Community Forestry Program’s website.
