DOUBLE SPRINGS, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say a Huntsville woman has died after her canoe overturned and pinned her to a fallen tree.

Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Senior Trooper Johnathan Appling said in a statement that 54-year-old Lori Williams Turner died Saturday after her canoe flipped on the Sipsey River in the Bankhead National Forest and pinned her to tree that had fallen across the water.

Appling says Turner was pronounced dead on the scene and two other people who were riding in the canoe were taken to a local hospital.
