Brush fire on Mt. Lemmon forced highway closure

SUMMERHAVEN, Ariz. (AP) - A weekend brush fire on Mt. Lemmon briefly closed the mountain’s main highway.

The U.S. Forest Service says the fire Saturday near Summerhaven was human caused and is under investigation.

Crews had containment lines around about 40 percent of the fire Sunday night.

The fire broke out about 2 p.m. Saturday.

KGUN-TV (https://bit.ly/1cPI6uv) reports the fire briefly closed the Mt. Lemmon Highway.

A large fire burned in the same area in 2003.
